Satscape, Xtenscape, free iPhone apps and other Free software for Windows, Apple mac and Linux...
The Purpose of this web site is to combine all my (Scott Hather) projects into one BIG web site containing everything. Computer programs, mobile apps, Music, Films. Everything I create that I want to share with the world will be on this web site.
Most of it’s FREE, or as I like to call it Donation-ware. Why is most of it Free? Well, there’s not enough free stuff in the world, also, rather than charge a specific amount for each product, YOU get to choose how much to pay for it... nothing... two cents... 5 Euros... 20 Pounds... 500 dollars. Anything you like! even ten million dollars! :-) Come on guys, I have two computers and a hard drive to support....click the adverts, make a donation, you’ll make my day!
So, scroll down each product below and see if there’s something that interests you......Enjoy, Scott Hather
Welcome (to my new-look web site)
Satscape is a satellite tracking program for Windows, Mac OS, Linux, Sun Solaris, and FreeBSD operating systems. You can use it to find out the position of any of the 8000+ satellites and orbital debris in orbit around the earth right now, anything from the International space station to a misplaced spanner can be tracked right on your screen with no special equipment.
Your very own NORAD command and control on your computer desktop. Sorry, it doesn’t currently track Santa. So, if you’re a star-gazer and want to see (with the naked eye) the international space station fly over your house, or you’re a radio amateur who wants to know when you can have a QSO with your buddy thousands of miles away. This is the program you need, easy to use, no need to be a rocket-scientist, it will do all the hard maths for you, and looks pretty.

Xtenscape is an X10 home automation program, for
Intel Mac OS and Windows.
With X10 modules plugged into your mains power sockets you can control any appliance in your home with no extra wiring. Signals are sent down the mains cabling itself. So all you need is a CM11/12 control module (US$ 50 or less) and at least one lamp or appliance module (US$ 40 or less). Plug those in, install this software and you can then manually control each appliance, or schedule it to come on and off at specific times of the day.
Yes, its a boys-toy, but it also saves you money, you can automatically turn off non-essential appliances for the hours that its not needed or turn lights on and off while your out to deter an unwelcome visitor.
UPDATE : iPhone / iPod version released!!
Emissary is the name of my ‘band’. Which is composed of me with an infinitely sized virtual recording studio with all the best virtual equipment.
The music I compose is generally instrumental, yeah, I don’t sing, backing singers do that! The genre itself is hard to describe, so it kind of fits into one of these categories... New age, electronica, ambient, orchestral, pop, rock, synth-pop...well, just go have a listen to hear for yourself, and if you like it, buy the album.
Satscape Films was born when I discovered ‘Machinima’. The art of using computer graphics to make movies, and in particular ‘Moviestorm’ a free program designed to create your own movies on your Windows PC or Apple mac.
I started making ‘machinima’ movies in January 2008, everything from dark violent plotless short films to funny little sketches, to the seriously bizarre, surreal short animations. DO NOT take them too seriously, most were made from vodka-induced screenplays I wrote, also some of them contain adult words, so may not be suitable for kiddies, or people with no sense of humor. Lots of great new ideas for 2009, so stay tuned.
Have you got a Nabaztag? What the heck is a Nabaztag I hear you say. Well... its a plastic rabbit that wirelessly connects to the internet and reads the news, sings, dances, reads your email, tells you the weather, does tai chi and talks rubbish, and a whole lot more. Its a fun toy for children of any age 0 to 95 years old.
Anyway, if you have an Apple iPhone or iPod Touch, get yourself on the app store and download ‘My bunny’ for FREE (as apposed to those other similar programs that arn’t free). Once installed you can control your nabaztag from anywhere in the world with an internet connection (wi-fi or phone network)
