About the Album

So far, the track "New Year" seems to be the most popular, having been played on the radio and a couple of podcasts, its a catchy Power-Electronica tune. "Indra" is another lively song, with a strong Dance tempo and Jean-michel Jarre feel to it. "Andromeda" was the first tune we wrote, way back in the dark ages before virtual Synthesizers were invented, and we used REAL ones (circa 1985) The album version is a re-doing of the original track. "Tell me" is a go at doing a stock-aitkin-waterman style tune. Finally "2012" is a nice Classical peice to round off the album in style. No, this song is not about the Olympics or Digital TV switchover, its about something alot more important!

Emissary Status:

We don't tour, as we're a virtual band, at the moment, we're just promoting the album, seeing what people like about, experimenting with new sounds and just about to start work on a second album. Keep your eye on this bit of the web site for breaking news, also subscribe to the podcast above.

Many thanks to My Spirit Radio for playing our music!

Welcome to the Emissary Homepage

Introduction

Emissary are a small totally independent/unsigned Virtual band, Promotion and sales are done entirely over the net, so if you buy a CD, the money goes to the band, rather than a record company + lots of "middle men".

So, we ask you nicely, if you like the music you hear, please buy a CD to show your support for this kind of music.

What Genre?

The genre of music produced by Emissary is : Electronic - Ambient - Orchestral - Pop - Rock - New-age suitable for all ages.

This unique style heard on the tracks is influenced by just as varied bands/artists too, such as; Orchestral Manouveurs, Ultravox, Moby, Sarah McLachlan, Sheryl Crow, Chopin and Jean-Michel Jarre, Kitaro, Kraftwerk, Birthday Massacre to name but a few. Most of the tracks are instrumental with a few vocal tracks using session singers and samples.

We're not big fans of "New age music" so much, although our music tends to drift towards this genre. I guess its the stereo-typical New age stuff we don't like Eg. Pan pipes and meditation music that has no melody. New age music should be uplifting and make you want to say YEAH! its good to be alive!

Discography

Emissary have one album available so far - Released late 2006, called "Digital Euphoria" , which sums up the feel of the album, a collection of 13 tracks of digitally produced music ranging from catchy pop tunes, to synth-pop, ambient, power-electronica and even an orchestral piece. You can sample extracts from all tracks.

Remember Emissary are an unsigned band, so please show you like this music, by buying the album, alot of time and effort went into making the album. Our hope is that other budding artists will do the same. We may even link to other unsigned artists who promote their music in this way.
